Join us at the Charter Street Cemetery Welcome Center on September 24th, for an evening of organic conversation about death and dying. The agenda is that there is no agenda! I will share guided prompts to get us in the flow, and it will develop from there. As a socially shy extrovert, I work really hard to include everyone in the conversation and help people feel as welcome as I’d want to be in a new space, especially when discussing potentially sensitive topics. About Charter Street Cemetery / The Old Burying Point

Established before 1637, Charter Street Cemetery is the oldest European burial ground in Salem and among the oldest in the country, though Indigenous burial sites that pre-date colonization are found in Salem. The cemetery’s historical significance was recognized in 1975 when it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of Salem’s Charter Street Historic District.
